Well first of all I am a 14y.o. that is barely learning on this game making progs more or less FPS Creator. Anyhow i know a little bit than the average teenager that just uses myspace. I'm more like a noob hacker. Well one of my friends saw this ad of devry on tv about making games and he told me to research about all the progs and stuff and we got the idea of putting all of our urban neighborhood gangs like southside and their rivals BrownKings(BK) into a fps game.Right now im in the research stage where i am gathering all the progs im going to use. Which so far is FPS Creator,Dark matter, 3D Canvas Pro, and 3D World Studio.I have only been able to acquire FPS Creator So far. Im also using google maps Terrain to base the map of my fps off of it.

Started on July 22,2008
Type: FPS (First-Person-shooter)

Plot: basicly Two gangs going at each other while avoiding the cops. Of course later on more detail.

Sounds interesting. I can tell you are using alot of the game creators products. You probably will not need as much of a modeling program as a texturing program. FPSC (fps creator) has plenty of models for characters and guns and buildings, but you should modify them to make them unique (make them look like cops/gangsters).
Make sure you check if 3d world studio (and dark matter) can for sure import things into FPSC. When you think about it, FPSC is quite limited. (I actually own FPSC and a few model packs, but now I just program in GML)

but on fpsc i don't know how to edit the characters or anything. and im still acquiring the other progs. Dark matter was created by the creators of fpsc so im sure that the can import or export models.

For the textures, all you are doing is changing the texture files. The forums over there are very nice, ask around about how to change the character textures and they will help. You can't use the WW2 officers as gangsters. :)
